Primark’s Bold Move: Four New Stores Set To Transform Middle East Shopping Experience By 2026

Primark, a beloved name in affordable fashion, is set to make waves in the Middle East as it gears up to open its very first stores in the region by early 2026. In collaboration with the Alshaya Group, a prominent franchise operator, Primark will establish four retail locations across the UAE and Kuwait, marking an exciting new chapter for both the retailer and local shoppers eagerly awaiting its arrival.

The first store is slated to open its doors in October at The Avenues mall in Kuwait—a bustling hub that attracts a diverse array of shoppers. This inaugural store promises to be a vibrant addition, bringing Primark’s distinctive mix of trendy yet affordable apparel to a new audience. Following this, the fashion giant plans to launch three more stores in Dubai, strategically setting up shop in popular destinations: The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and City Centre Mirdif, all expected to welcome shoppers early next year.

Eoin Tonge, Primark’s interim chief executive, expressed the company’s enthusiasm about venturing into this promising market. He shared, “We’re excited to be taking the next step in our global expansion journey, creating new stores for more customers to enjoy shopping with us.” This sentiment captures the anticipation many shoppers feel, understanding that Primark is ready to cater to a demographic that values both style and cost-effectiveness.

Tonge also highlighted the strong demand for Primark’s offerings in the region, noting the “strong cohort of shoppers ready and waiting for us.” It’s clear that there’s a hunger for the accessible fashion that Primark is known for, which makes this expansion not just a business move but also a response to the local market’s needs.

As Primark expands its footprint, it’s not just about opening stores; it’s about connecting with a community that craves choices without overwhelming price tags. With over 460 stores in 17 different markets already under its belt, Primark is no stranger to the international retail landscape, but this new venture is particularly special, allowing them to explore additional opportunities for growth across the region.

However, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. Earlier this year, former CEO Paul Marchant resigned amid allegations of inappropriate behavior, which sparked an internal investigation by Associated British Foods, the parent company of Primark. Despite these upheavals, the brand remains steadfast in its mission to provide valued fashion and continues to focus on its ambitious global expansion plans.

As this exciting transformation unfolds, shoppers in the Middle East can look forward to experiencing the thrill of Primark for themselves in just a matter of months. It’s a journey rooted in the promise of community connection, stylish accessibility, and a commitment to delivering what consumers genuinely seek. The anticipation is palpable, and for many, it represents a welcome change in their shopping landscape, where value-driven fashion will soon become part of their everyday choices.
